Think again- Japan&#8217;s Yuichiro Miura reached the 8848 m summit in May 2013, at 81!.<\/p><p>Also, this was his third world record. But it takes quite a lot of practice to tame those gigantic monster waves.<\/p><p>It&#8217;s not really a problem for USA&#8217;s Garrett McNamara, who surfed a 78 feet (23.77m) wave. This set the world record for the &#8216;<em>Highest Wave Surfed<\/em>&#8216;, and was completed off the coast of Praia do Norte in Portugal in November 2011.<\/p><h4><strong>Slacklining<\/strong><\/h4><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1709 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/world-record-slackline-team-lucas-milliard.adapt_.1900.1.jpg\" alt=\"world-record-slackline-team-lucas-milliard.adapt.1900.1\" width=\"728\" height=\"486\" srcset=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/world-record-slackline-team-lucas-milliard.adapt_.1900.1.jpg 728w, https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/world-record-slackline-team-lucas-milliard.adapt_.1900.1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>When it comes to thinking of adventure world records, this one must not be left out! A relatively new sport, slacklining requires not just physical strength, but also extreme levels of focus and balance. France&#8217;s Lucas Milliard\u00a0completed the <em>&#8216;Fastest 100 m slackline walk<\/em>&#8216; in June 2016 in China.<\/p><p>The feat took him just under 2 minutes and the slackline was at a distance of 70 m above the ground.<\/p><h4><strong>Rafting solo<\/strong><\/h4><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1712 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Poom_i_jego_tratwa-1.jpg\" alt=\"adventure world records\" width=\"1200\" height=\"863\" srcset=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Poom_i_jego_tratwa-1.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Poom_i_jego_tratwa-1-300x216.jpg 300w, https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Poom_i_jego_tratwa-1-768x552.jpg 768w, https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Poom_i_jego_tratwa-1-1024x736.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p><p>Adventure sports has got a lot to do with mental strength, and having at least one companion is always helpful.<\/p><p>But Poon Lim of the UK Merchant Navy did not have this luxury as his vessel was torpedoed in November 1942 in the Atlantic. But she was actually on a road trip, with her two teenage children, to promote the 3rd experimental Benz motor car.<\/p><p>The journey in 1888 saw her driving a distance of 106 km, earning her a rightful place in the books of\u00a0adventure world records.<\/p><h4>Kayaking<\/h4><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1721 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/carter-johnson_7a.jpg\" alt=\"carter-johnson_7a\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/carter-johnson_7a.jpg 600w, https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/carter-johnson_7a-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Carter Johnson of USA went canoeing down the\u00a0Yukon River in Canada in June 2011 and covered a distance of\u00a0450 km. He thus broke the record for the &#8216;<em>Farthest distance canoed\/kayaked in under 24 hours&#8217;<\/em>. He had a support team that followed him during the journey.<\/p><p>Kayaking non-stop for 24 hours? THose arms must be hurting!<\/p><h4><strong>Climbing with no vision<\/strong><\/h4><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1714\" src=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/erik_weihenmayer_intel_hed_2014-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"erik_weihenmayer_intel_hed_2014\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/erik_weihenmayer_intel_hed_2014-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/advensure.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/erik_weihenmayer_intel_hed_2014.jpg 652w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p><p>This probably the most commendable feat so far. Erik Weihenmaye of USA was suffering from Retinoschisis, and was completely blind by the time he was 13.<\/p><p>This did nothing to stop him, and in May 2001, he climbed to the summit of Everest and is the <em>only blind person<\/em> to have achieved this so far.
