Things to Remember
  • You don’t need any ‘special’ gear for this winter trek, apart from a good pair of boots and gaiters. The trick is to layer sensibly and for temperatures dipping to zero, 3 layers are normally enough – 2 full sweaters and a jacket. Same for legs, you need layers thickness is secondary. For inners, 2 t-shirts or 3 at most are perfect. It’s simple for every 5-degree dip in temperature, add a layer.
  • All guests are welcome to stay at d'A Base’ in Haripur, Manali in rooms on sharing basis at a nominal cost. Unwind, relax, go paragliding, rafting or angling and later interact with the team over BBQ and bonfire before commencing the trek next morning.
  • Trekking programs in the Himalaya not necessarily would always run exactly as scheduled. Allow for unplanned long days or early camps due to weather disruptions or similar causes.
  • All participants are recommended to have a travel insurance that covers trekking and wilderness travel.
  • Wear shoes and clothes you are comfortable in and do not forget waterproof jackets and warm clothing.
  • Do not litter the environment. Polythene and plastics are non-biodegradable and unhealthy for the environment and must not be littered or burned and should be carried back.
  • In case of heavy snow or not enough snow, we will choose a different snow point or stay at the Kkoott.
  • No special equipment is required except for a good pair of mountain shoes and a few warm jackets.
